Rachel Keller

RachelRachel Keller is a fictionalized character from The Ring movie series. The character, created by producer-writer Ehren Kruger and voiced by Naomi Watts, serves as the main character in The Ring and The Ring Two which share a number of similarities with Reiko Asakawa, the protagonist of the original Japanese films.Introduced in 2002's film, Rachel is an investigative journalist who has to find a way to escape death after watching a cursed video tape that she came across while investigating the murder of her niece. Rachel is required to dig into the history of Samara Morgan after her son is diagnosed with mysterious illnesses. Ruth asks Rachel Keller who is an investigative journalist, to investigate the mystery surrounding Katie's death. Rachel reveals to Rachel that she discovered her daughter's disfigured corpse in the closet and that her official cause of death was a heart attack, even though Katie being an incredibly healthy teenager. Katie's family members tell Rachel about the myth of the videotape that was cursed and Becca Katie's close friend was placed in a mental institution after seeing Katie's death. She also discovers that Katie's boyfriend and two of her friends all were killed in bizarre accidents the same night around 10 PM. Rachel is on her way to Shelter Mountain Inn to Cabin 12 where Katie and her friends watched the videotape with the curse. Rachel finds the tape and after it is finished the phone rings. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel is seeking help from her ex-boyfriend Noah Clay, a video analyst. Rachel learns later that Aidan (her son who is also with Noah) looked at the tape, and told her that he believed her. Rachel goes through the tape in search of the lighthouse and finds it is situated on Moesko Island. This was the residence of Anna Morgan, an evil horse breeder cursed to appear on the tape with the cursed name. Rachel discovered that Anna had an adopted child named Samara who was capable of burning disturbing images into the minds and bodies of people, animals, and objects. Rachel has to go to Anna's widower Richard after she starts asking questions regarding Samara.
