Cynthia Ann Crawford was born on February 20, 1966. She is an American model, actress, and television personality. In the 1980s and 90s she was a supermodel of renown with a prominent appearance on magazines and runways, as well as in fashion shows. Then, she began acting and launched a company. In her sophomore year of high school, she got an inquiry from a local clothing shop about modeling opportunities, only to discover it was a trick played by two of her classmates. Crawford was contacted by a different store the next year to do a modeling job for them. The store also hosted a fashion shoot. Roger Legel, a local photographer, approached Crawford to shoot her photo. He was responsible for the photo shoot of another college student for DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford was chosen as the first photo shoot. Crawford was inspired to continue modeling based on the favorable feedback and photos she received. At first, she worked with a small modeling agency. Elite Model Management sold the agency shortly after signing. She entered Elite's Look of the Year contest at the age of 17 and reached the finals at the national level.
