Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the United States of America, is an actor and singer. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods, Michigan, and is the daughter of Lorelei (Frygier) and is Nurse as well as Tom Bell, a television news director. Her ancestry is Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish as well as Scottish (father). Kristen developed a talent to perform on an early age on stage. In 1992, Kristen attended her first audition. She was given an appearance on Raggedy Ann And Andy. Bell's mother introduced her to an agent prior to her turning thirteen, and she was cast in television advertisements for newspapers and commercials. In addition to having private lessons in acting, she launched her career at that time. Bell played a small part, uncredited in Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School, where she took part in both the music and drama club. The Wizard of Oz was staged by her high school and she won the role as Dorothy. Bell was accepted to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theater after graduation. Bell was a graduate in 2001, decided to leave her college studies in order to take on the role Becky on Tom Sawyer. Her first film credits in Pootie Tang in 2001. The scene however, was trimmed and now her appearance only appears in the final credits. Bell made an appearance on Broadway for the first time in The Crucible, a revival with Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
